Supported Living
A: The individual is able to choose where they want to live and must pay rent out of their income. Sometimes, due to budget restraints individuals may need a roommate to help cover all household expenses.
Q: How do I get Supported Living services?
A: The first step is to contact your Service Coordinator or SSA at the County Board. If you do not currently receive services from the County Board, then request an intake. Once your IO/Level One waiver funding has been established, you can request to interview providers. If you already know names of providers you want to interview, be sure to request them to the County Board.
Q: What services can you provide in Supported Living?
A: All of our services are related to your specific needs. Of course, there are some basic services, such as, cooking, cleaning, banking, and management of health care, which we offer.
Q: Does your staff use their own vehicles?
A: No. Staff members are required to drive agency vehicles that consistently have mechanically oversight. Staff must also complete safety inspection before and after driving vehicles.
Q: Are my services cancelled if you do not have staff available?
A: Services are only cancelled in extreme emergencies, such as, inclement weather. We believe in cross-training our staff at multiple locations and with other departments to ensure that you get consistent, high-quality of services.
Creative Housing
Q. Where are your houses located?
A. At the current time all of CDS' houses are located in the Newark Area of Licking County and in Knox County.
Q. Who is eligible to apply for this housing?
A. The purpose of this housing program is to provide safe and comfortable housing for individuals with developmental disabilities, ages 18 and up.
Q. How do I find out more about this program?

Adaptive Socialization
Q. What is ASP?
A. ASP is an Adaptive Socialization Program offere through The Center for Disability Services.
Q. What activities are offered?
A. Activities such as bowling, dances, shopping trips, camping trips, exercise and Nutrition classes.
Q. Is there a cost?
A. There is a $1 transportation fee if located within Licking County. Additional money may be required for each particular activity. All costs associated are located within the activities calendar.
